The espresso machine is now the order of the day and comes in many shapes and forms. There are 3 types of machines available including the fully automatic, manual and pod style machine. The fully automatic variety grinds the beans, tamps the coffee and infuses the coffee all with the touch of a button. The manual variety requires manual grinding and tamping however is more popular with the coffee aficionados. The pod variety is a more recent phenomenon with pre packed pods providing a convenient and consistent quality of coffee.

When purchasing your espresso coffee machine, one of the most important points to consider is the pressure in which the coffee is infused. The superior systems use the pump system which forces hot water through the coffee. The less expensive models use a steam system to force the water through however this is usually not as effective.

Most models also include a milk steaming device. These can also be manual or automatic.

Some brands include a coffee machine which can be integrated into the kitchen design by being built in. These tastefully match related appliances in the kitchen.
